Large Diesel- Gas and Fuel engines onboard vessels do bear a certain danger in their daily operation. According classification society LRS, more than 54.000 2- and 4- stroke engines onboard LRS approved vessels were suffering a bearing damage within their crank drive within a period of 10 years*. As a result, a high risk of Crankcase explosions due to igniting oil mist is given in every single case.
